WORKPLACE VIOLENCE &
THREAT ASSESSMENTS

Workplace Violence is a very real threat
In order to prevent acts of violence from
occurring in the workplace employee actions should be monitored for
warning signs. At Independent Investigations, LLC, we will assist
you in preventing acts of violence in the workplace. Whether
we get involved in the end, where we are acting as an armed
protection agent, or in the beginning, conducting threat
assessments, we would be happy to help you. Our lead
investigator, David C. Hoover, recently completed a 40 hour course
titled "Advanced Threat Assessment and Management Academy".
This academy was taught by Gavin de Becker and Associates, who are
known to be the premier threat assessment agency in the United
States, if not the world. Mr. de Becker had this to say about
Mr. Hoover in a letter addressed to Independent Investigations, LLC
on 04/23/2009: "We had several round-table discussions on very
difficult cases (angry ex-employees, stalkers, threateners), and we
paused at various decision-points to explore the benefits and
consequences of each management option. I'm writing to let you
know that Mr. Hoover brought creativity, experience, and innovation
to our thinking on these topics. He represented your
organization superbly, and showed caring and caution in approaching
these tough situations. You already know that he is a fine
professional; I just wanted to say that our firm experienced it
first hand.".
David Hoover had this to say about Threat Assessments: "I cannot underestimate the importance of having a TRAINED threat assessment professional examine any threat which occurs. Too many times school districts, corporations, businesses, and individuals will rely on the wrong person to conduct a threat assessment. Many times these individuals will have little to no training in regards to threat assessments. I have seen Psychiatrists and other seasoned professionals make horrible mistakes in regards to threat assessments. This is not because they are stupid. They are very intelligent, and are experts in their respective fields. However, threat assessments are in a field all by themselves. I have seen first hand people be injured or put unnecessarily in danger due to someone conducting a threat assessment who does not have the proper training and experience."
Whether the threats occurred from a stalker, a co-worker, or a random person, we have the experience to handle the threat appropriately.
