BACKGROUND OF DAVID HOOVER

In order to make it easier for our potential clients to verify Mr. Hoover's experience, we have attached authenticating documents to many of the below statements.  Any statement which is underlined can be double-clicked on to take the potential client to the credential in question.  Additional documentation is available upon request.

David Hoover began his career in the investigations field at the age of 19 working retail security.  A couple of years later he conducted an internship with the Special Investigations Unit of Trustmark Insurance (The Sentinel Group).  He finished off his college experience by completing an internship with the United States Department of State, Bureau of Diplomatic Security, which is commonly referred to as the Diplomatic Security Service (DSS).  While at DSS in Chicago Mr. Hoover protected various visiting heads of state alongside DSS Special Agents.  He also conducted surveillance, assisted with arrests and arrestee processing, and collected evidence.  In support of protective details Mr. Hoover assisted Special Agents in conducting advances in preparation of diplomat travel.  Mr. Hoover personally protected the NATO Secretary General, the Crowned Prince of Holland, and the President of Poland. 

After graduating Cum Laude from Illinois State University with a major in Criminal Justice Sciences and minors in Psychology and Sociology, Mr. Hoover began working as an investigator for a Private Detective Agency in the Chicago area.  While there he conducted a wide variety of investigations, specializing in Worker's Compensation fraud.

Mr. Hoover became a police officer for the city of Bloomington, Illinois in 2000.  While at the police department he held the following positions:  Patrol Officer, Crime Scene Technician, Intelligence Officer, Task Force Gang Unit Officer, Narcotics Detective, and Illinois State Police Task Force 6 Inspector.  He was also a certified Police Sniper and SWAT Operator, participating in over 70 police raids.

In 2007 Mr. Hoover formed Independent Investigations, LLC.  He has always placed a premium on training, and has continued seeking out the best and brightest trainers to continue his education.  To date he has well over 2,000 hours of training under his belt.  He is certified as an Electronic Crime Scene Specialist, Cell Phone Forensics and Technology Specialist, Gang Specialist, and as an Electronic Criminal Surveillance Officer I specialist.  He has successfully completed investigations and surveillances at the federal, state, and local levels.  He currently holds ranks in six different martial arts, and has studied many others.  Mr. Hoover has also had a professional journal article published.  Download a free copy HERE.  He is well versed in a variety of investigations to include worker's compensation fraud, cheating spouses, child custody disputes, cohabitation, and employee drug use/theft.  Mr. Hoover is also skilled in conducting Threat Assessments.
